This atlatl (Aztec for spear thrower) measures almost 9" is a device used to throw a dart with much greater velocity than a thrusting spear. A great artificact recreation by Black Wolf, whose work is on display at a number of museums such as Smithsonian Museum in Washington DC, and the Heard Museum in Arizona.
