Osha root is also know as Snake Root. It grows in the high mountain meadows of the Rocky and Cascade Mountain ranges. The root can be burned as an aromatic to perfume the hair and clothing. It smells similar to fennel. When steamed, it makes an excellent facial. Osha root is known to provide relief from coughs, sore throats, and is reputed to keep away snakes because of it's strong smell. It is often used in medicine bags and amulets.
